Our wonderful little girl is already two months old and how the time flies by! Seems like yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital (totally a cliche, but really it's true). Bradford is such a sweet baby...very content (most days), eats well, sleeps well, generally laid back and a very pretty baby (we're not biased one bit!). She came home from the hospital and was sleeping 4 hour stretches at night. She is starting to stretch her nights even further and has given us 6-7 hours between feedings at 9 weeks of age. During the day she's getting somewhat predictable and wants to eat about every 3 to 3 1/2 hours. She started smiling around 5-6 weeks and makes those sweet little cooing sounds. It has been really amazing to see how she responds to Wyatt's voice. I don't know if it's at just the right pitch, or if it is familiar from being in the womb, but everytime Wyatt comes in the room she turns in the direction of his voice. We have even noticed that Wyatt's voice can sometimes get her to stop crying. She was a little fussy the other day and Wyatt came and sat down next to her, got right up in her face, held her little hand and said, "Oh Bradford, don't cry...I'm here." And the crying stopped. Talk about a sweet big brother...she sure is blessed!
Bradford went to the doctor yesterday for her 2-month check-up. She weighed 12 pounds and 12 ounces, was 22 inches long, and her head was 15cm around. She passed everything with flying colors. Bradford is in the 90th percentile for weight and the 60th for length. Comparitively speaking, she and Wyatt are the same weight, however Bradford is 3 inches shorter than her brother was at this age. She prefers to lay with her head facing to the right, so her head is slightly flatter on one side. Our doctor said that is perfectly normal but that we might want to start putting her in the crib facing the other direction and also putting Wyatt on her left side so she will naturally turn that direction. Her head flattening is purely cosmetic at this point but we don't want her neck muscles to get to the point where they are extremely stiff.
She looks a lot like Wyatt did even from birth. Her hair is darker though, and so are her eyebrows. Their eyes and facial features are very similar. Bradford has rounder cheeks and has more rolls than Wyatt did. But other than those differences, they really favor. You can definitely tell they are from the same family. It will be neat to see if she continues to look like him or looks completely different.
