Thoughts from a two-year-old

You never know what is going on inside of Wyatt's creative head these days. He is extremely verbal for his age and for that we are of course thankful, and always amused at what he comes up with. Yesterday he told me he wanted me to buy him a tuba. I said, "a tuba Wyatt?" He said, "Yes Mommy. Please buy me a pink tuba." Today we were reading "Going on a Bear Hunt" (a favorite around here) and he said that Bradford wanted a bear in her backyard. Now wouldn't that be interesting? Shelby and The Bear?

Wyatt has been learning to spell things. It's amazing that whenever he sees a W, a Y, an A and T's, he will say, "Mommy, there's my W" or "Mommy there's my A." He'll see an "M" and announce "Mommy there's your M." He has been spelling his name for several months now. He can recognize the words Taz, Shelby, Marley, Mommy, Daddy, Wyatt and Bradford. He can also spell book, zoo, zoom, hat, log and a several other short words. He loves the show "Word World" which comes on PBS. It is very educational and age-appropriate and teaches them how to spell and recognize words.

He's fascinated with these bowls I bought for a wedding gift at Pottery Barn. I always felt bad for not getting that wedding gift to the happy couple, but I'm glad I kept them around. They are just pasta bowls with engraved images on the bottom of the bowl. Wyatt LOVES them and is pretty obsessed at the momemt with them. Forget the plastic Lightening McQueen bowls and Thomas the Train...bring on Pottery Barn breakables! Wyatt can recite in his sleep what is on these bowls...Cheese Grater, Hot Spaghetti, Colander and Fork with Spaghetti. It's always entertaining around meal-time.
