Night calls

Wyatt has mastered the art of procrastination, especially at bedtime. We have a usual, and very predictable routine...bath, reading, saying prayers, occasionally lying down with him, checking to see if the sun is setting and turning on his sound machine. Lately he will also sometimes wait several minutes then make a call into us for something he has forgotten, or wants. Like a cup of water, or to tuck him in the proper way, or to turn down his sound machine, or to put his pillow on the floor (my personal favorite because at 3 1/2, he is more than capable of doing this for himself). Tonight, my mom is staying with us. And as I was talking to my sister on the phone, I heard him yell Bebe!! BEBE! BEBE! Knowing Bebe was downstairs and probably couldn't hear him calling for her, I went in to answer the call. Here's our conversation (and Erin can attest to this verbatim): "Mommy, my nose hurts." "Your nose hurts Wyatt? What's wrong with it?" "It hurts here, on the inside." "Well, you probably scratched it and it will be OK in the morning." (at this point I checked his nose and couldn't feel anything amiss). "Wyatt, it will feel better in the morning. It's time to go to sleep now. I love you sweet boy." And as plain as day, I hear, "Or that is just how God made me." So true, so true! Got could have made him with the inside of his left nostril hurting. But since this is the first time I was aware of this, Dr. Mom thinks he will be OK tonight :-)

HAHAHAHA!!! I love it! And yes, I heard every word of that conversation. Hilarious and quite insightful.
