Our precious little boy had a big birthday this past week! We woke up on October 14 to a very happy birthday boy. He was so excited when we started singing to him upon waking up. He kept saying, "happy birthday to ME!" We walked into the playroom where he had a big Cars balloon, two gifts, and a new blue bike! He received a bike helmet from his great grandparents and a red tractor from us. Rewind to the night before...I had it in my head that I was going to make homemade cupcakes for him to take to school (as if 2 and 3-year olds really care if these are homemade?). Chris was kind enough to help me, but trust me when I say that baking is not my forte...we stayed up until 11 PM working on these cupcakes. After three rounds of chocolate, two rounds of butter, and one trip to the grocery store, alas the cupcakes were done. They were actually really good, but more work than I bargained for. Wyatt had a wonderful day at school that day...his friends sang to him, he was able to sit in the teacher's chair, and he walked to the car when I picked him up wearing a birthday hat that he loved! Surprising b/c he really doesn't like hats or anything on his head. I think he must have had too much sugar that day...he didn't take a nap, but oh well, it was his birthday! That evening our friends the Souders came down and celebrated with us over burgers, hotdogs and more cake! Wyatt really had a wonderful day and that's what matters!

I can't believe that boy is 3 years old already! So glad he had such a great day. Wish I could have helped you bake cupcakes!
